School counseling is my second career, but it feels like a long-lost treasure finally discovered. After working behind the scenes in TV news for nearly 20 years, I felt a strong calling to be more involved in the lives of young people, hoping to play a small role in preventing them from becoming the lead story on the evening news due to negative circumstances. I love working in the Marshfield R-I School District, as Marshfield has been my adopted hometown since I married my husband in 1993. Our children are graduates of this district, and we have exceptional leadership and staff. I feel very privileged to be part of the counseling team.

I am so excited to be part of the MJHS Blue Jays again! Yes, you read that right—I said "again." I taught at the Junior High for 21 years, and during that time, I felt called to explore a different side of education. That led me to earn my Master's in School Counseling. I absolutely love being a school counselor, and I look forward to working with all of the students here at Marshfield Junior High.
A little about me: I'm a hobby children's book author with four published books and a few more in the works. One of my nicknames is "Crappie Slayer" because I’m an avid crappie fisher. I love spending time at our lake house with family and friends, boating, swimming, and fishing. I also have three fur babies: Kimmie, Honey, and Penny, along with a pet chicken named Peck.
I’m currently in my final class before taking the national exam to become a Licensed Professional Counselor. I’ve been married for over 20 years, have one granddaughter, and another grandbaby on the way in spring 2024.
I feel incredibly lucky to be part of the Blue Jay Counseling Department and a proud member of the Junior High staff!
